It’s Sealcoat Season: Extend The Life Of Your Pavement
Sealcoating should be done every 2 to 3 years. This important maintenance step increases the life of the binder (liquid asphalt) that holds pavement together, and can double the life expectancy of your pavement.
Before applying sealer, all damaged asphalt should be repaired, and the surface cleaned and free of debris. Apply a minimum of two coats, but don’t Sealcoat if rain is forecasted within 48 hours of application. For excessively rough areas, 2-3 pounds of sand per gallon should be added to the sealer to fill in voids. Let cure for a minimum of 24 hours before opening the pavement to vehicle and pedestrian traffic.
