Meet Marshall Pilkington
Marshall was born and raised in Santa Barbara, CA where he lived until his graduation from High School in 1999. He packed his bags and moved to San Jose to play water polo at West Valley Community College, and on to San Jose State where he would finish his academic career. Marshall considers the San Francisco Bay Area his second home and has lived in the Bay Area the majority of his life. Marshall was introduced to Asphalt and Concrete business by Albert (owner of TARC) when he was coaching Albert’s son, Dante in Water Polo at Valley Christian High School. Marshall was in-between jobs when Albert approached him and asked “Hey Marshall, do you know anything about asphalt and concrete?”, his response was “no but I am willing to learn”. Albert hired him in August of 2008 and he now has 14 years of experience as an Asphalt/ Concrete Estimator.
We asked what inspires him about his work, Marshall said “being able to help customers complete their projects and meet their expectations. The sight of a newly completed project is always inspiring to me!” Marshall has always enjoyed working for TARC and prides himself on being punctual and a team player. He says, “the family atmosphere, team mentality, and bonding with the owners and other employees makes it enjoyable. It’s fun and exciting every single day”. Marshall enjoys camping in the summer, snowboarding in the winter and remodeling his home in his free time. Marshall said “my main goal is to make sure the customer is happy with the quality of work and that the work environment is safe for any patrons, our crew, and the surrounding area. We asked Marshall what he would like people to know about him, he said “I’ve been told that I’m “too serious” but, I’m one of the easiest going people with a silly, fun and outgoing personality”.
